Cookerly Public Relations Reorganizes with
Eye on Sustained Growth

Agency names three new vice presidents, Chief Strategy Officer

(ATLANTA – January 10, 2012) After experiencing solid growth for the past two years, Cookerly Public Relations is positioning itself for even more with an agency reorganization and the promotions of Lindsay Durfee, Beth McKenna and Cory Stewart to vice presidents. In addition, the Atlanta-based public relations, digital and marketing communications agency created the role of chief strategy officer, to be filled by SVP and Director of Social Media and Interactive Services, Candace McCaffery.

Durfee, McKenna and Stewart have proven their leadership abilities and built strong client relationships during their time with the agency, and their new roles will allow them to take the lead on managing the day-to-day account operations for Cookerly’s distinguished roster of clients. McCaffery will shift her focus to long-term strategic planning and growth opportunities.

"I want us to be bigger and even better this time next year, and that means we need to look at a variety of opportunities to get there. This reorganization is the first step,” said Carol Cookerly, the agency’s president. “Lindsay, Beth and Cory have done an outstanding job, and their new roles will enable us to continue to provide superior work while taking a more strategic look at the future."

Durfee joined Cookerly in 2005 and has built up a repertoire of expertise across a wide variety of practice areas, from environment to technology to financial services. She was also integral to building the agency’s social media and digital services, developing a social media marketing program for The Clean Air Campaign starting in 2006. Additional clients have included the Secure POS Vendor Alliance, the state of Georgia's Litter. It Costs You campaign, and SunTrust.

Now in her fifth year with Cookerly, Beth McKenna brings more than 20 years' marketing expertise to her position. Highlights of her leadership include senior-level services for clients such as U.S. Micro, SunTrust and Guardian Pharmacy

Cory Stewart joined Cookerly in 2005 with a background in financial services and technology marketing. He has since become one of the agency's leading issues management experts, and has developed strategic public relations campaigns for accounts including Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Raymond James and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

McCaffery has been with Cookerly for 14 years. She has served as the lead over the agency's 12-year tenure with The Clean Air Campaign; as well as the Georgia Emergency Management Agency’s Ready Georgia and SunTrust Banks’ social media marketing program. Her innovation has helped the agency build a strong and successful digital marketing practice, bringing strategic oversight across agency efforts.  She is a sought-after speaker on social media and digital topics. Her new role will broaden her scope to look for opportunities to grow the agency through new products, services and acquisitions.
